MISSION STATEMENT

As members of the National Panhellenic Conference of fraternities, we come together in friendship and mutual interest to promote leadership, scholarship and enlightenment. We promote higher education by offering scholarship awards, and annual educational and informational functions in our local communities. Our goal is to be a proactive voice regarding issues that are important to our communities and to actively participate in philanthropic projects. For over 54 years we have served as a resource to students and schools in the Coachella Valley.

The Coachella Valley Alumnae Panhellenic (CVAP) was established in 1954 and currently has a membership of 225 sorority women from every part of the United States. Many are winter residents who find friends and fun in the desert during the season. The National Panhellenic Conference has named CVAP as the recipient of several national awards.

The CVAP Scholarship Program is our proudest achievement. Scholarships totaling several thousand dollars are awarded each year to women graduating from local public high schools. We are proud that, with outstanding help from our community, we have raised in excess of $600,000.00 for scholarships in the last five years.

The PHDs

The Panhellenic Honey-Doers (PHDs) are husbands of members who assist at our annual benefit. They meet every second Thursday of the month for lunch and entertain wives at a Valentine Day party. Husbands of all CVAP members are invited to belong. For those who would like to get more involved, contact Ralph Anderson (randerson6@dc.rr.com) or 674-0033.
